Programmes and projects

  1. TRIANGLE in ASEAN – Myanmar

    The ILO TRIANGLE in ASEAN is a partnership between the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). TRIANGLE in ASEAN delivers technical assistance and support with the overall goal of maximizing the contribution of labour migration to equitable, inclusive and stable growth in ASEAN.

  2. Safe and Fair: Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region

    The project is part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls, a global, multi-year initiative between the European Union and United Nations. Safe & Fair is implemented through a partnership between the ILO and UN Women with the overriding objective of ensuring that labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region.

  3. Myanmar Entrepreneurship and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) Support

    SMEs are one of the largest sources of job creation and growth in developing economies around the world. They can not only generate jobs but can also be a source of innovation, wealth creation and poverty reduction, making significant contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals.

  4. Responsible Supply Chains in Asia - Myanmar

    The Responsible Supply Chains in Asia programme aims to promote responsible business practices into the operations of multinational companies and their supply chains. Active in six Asian countries, the programme in the Myanmar is working to enhance respect for labour rights and environmental standards among multinational enterprises with supply chains in the seafood and agricultural export industries.

  5. Responsible Supply Chains in Asia

    The Responsible Supply Chains in Asia programme aims to further sustainable and inclusive economic, social and environmental progress by integrating responsible business practices into the operations of multinational companies and their supply chains. Active in selected industrial sectors in six Asian countries, it takes a multifaceted approach with the aim of promoting respect for human rights, and labour and environmental standards.

  6. Developing International and Internal Labour migration Governance in Myanmar

    The people of Myanmar have long used migration as a survival strategy; for safe refuge and for livelihood. Those who have migrated not only support themselves but also try to remit enough money to allow their families and communities to manage.

  7. Safety and Health in Myanmar Supply Chains - A Vision Zero Fund project

    The Vision Zero Fund (VZF) Myanmar project strives to realize the goal of zero work-related fatalities and severe injuries and diseases, by improving occupational safety and health practices and conditions in the garment and ginger supply chains.

  8. Improving Labour Relations for Decent Work and Sustainable Development in the Myanmar Garment Industry (ILO – GIP)

    The ILO-GIP project aims to reduce poverty and contribute to the empowerment of Myanmar women working in the garment industry by improving labour relations, social dialogue and gender equality.

  9. Legal and Institutional Reforms for Improved Labour Market Governance (Myanmar)

    This project assists Myanmar to develop a labour law framework that is gender responsive and based on the principles of tripartite social dialogue as well as improving compliance with International Labour Standards ratified by Myanmar.

    Myanmar Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (My-PEC)

    Through this programme, the ILO aims to establish a comprehensive, inclusive and efficient multi-stakeholder response to reducing child labor in Myanmar.
