Although ILOs TICW-project mainly focuses on 'prevention' of trafficking in children and women, it is also believed important to invest in systems and mechanisms that could facilitate a proper return of victims of trafficking. In this regard, it is essential to build the capacity of key national personnel in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) to address the specific health and psychosocial needs of child and youth victims of sexual exploitation.
For this purpose, ILOs TICW-project - in collaboration with the ESCAP Human Resources Development Section (ESCAP-HRD) and the UN Interagency Project to combat trafficking (UNIAP) - launched a joint initiative. It includes the development of training materials by the ESCAPHRD and a ‘Training of Trainers’ course for key national personnel in the sub-region.
