The Skills for Productivity, Environment, and Economic Diversification (SPEED) methodology represents an evolution of the established, Skills for Trade and Economic Diversification (STED) initiative developed by ILO and designed to address certain basic realities of today’s economic landscape.

It represents an integrated sectoral approach to the anticipation of skills needs and development of the needed skills, supporting sectoral development and productivity enhancement while promoting economic diversification in the context of green transition. It provides a systematic framework for analysing current and future skills needs, identifying system-wide challenges while facilitating a just transition towards environmentally sustainable societies and economies for all.
