Child labour seminar on the 2021 World Day Against Child Labour

The 12 June marks the World Day for the Elimination of Child Labour that aims to shed light on the unacceptable situation of children’s work and to support the global movement against child labour.

The event of 11 June closes the cycle of meetings that took place in the period 2019-2021 on the Centenary of the International Labour Organization. These meetings are part of the initiative of the Department of History Culture and Civilization of the University of Bologna, organized in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (Office for Italy and San Marino) and the Italian Society of History of Labour.

The meeting is part of the initiatives that celebrate the United Nations’ International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour and aims to raise awareness among participants on the importance of taking urgent action on to eliminate child labour. The results of the new global and regional estimates on child labor will be presented during the meeting, together with some initiatives that have been implemented to prevent and combat child labour across the globe.
