What would make them want to act?

We each are motivated by different things, and while our individual passion is important in the work that we each do, we must be cognizant that we care about things with varying levels of passion—what I care deeply about, you may not. Or perhaps my obligations have my focus shifted to something I consider more pressing than your issue right now. It’s best to cater your story and your ask to helping them solve a challenge they have in their own daily lives, give them a sense of accomplishment, adhere to a perceived social or peer norm or somehow else make it in their interest to act.
