Weather-based index insurance – Insurance education posters

General understanding of how weather-based index insurance works can be a challenge for farmers: they may have no clarity about how pay-outs are calculated and how claims will be paid, no understanding of how rainfall is verified and some even confuse index insurance with indemnity products. In some contexts, insurance distribution agents understand some basic product features, but not the details, so they cannot transfer this knowledge to farmers. These posters, which adopt simple visuals, can be used by distributors to educate their agents on the specifics of weather-based index insurance and by agents themselves to quickly educate farmers.
