Training manual to fight trafficking in children for labour, sexual and other forms of exploitation

The Training manual to fight trafficking in children for labour, sexual and other forms of exploitation was validated during a workshop held in July 2008. The workshop brought together a diverse group of experts in child trafficking prevention, training, and communication. Participants included representatives from the Council of the Baltic Sea States, ILO-IPEC, ILO-ITC, IOM, OHCHR, OSCE, Save the Children UK, Terre des Hommes, UNICEF, UNICRI, UNODC, and the Union Générale des Travailleurs.

Further field testing of the training materials was conducted in the Mekong sub-region, involving representatives from governments and workers’ and employers’ organizations in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Additional testing took place during a global training session in Turin, which included participants from governments, workers’ organizations, and NGOs from around the world.

The objective of this training package is to support the efforts of governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, international agencies, and NGOs in their fight against child trafficking.
