In-company trainers play a key role in implementing quality apprenticeships.
They are responsible for mentoring and training apprentices on the job. The quality of their commitment to supporting apprentices is essential to the success of the programs and, in particular, to preventing dropouts or failure.
The ILO developed this training as a contribution to the implementation of Recommendation R208—Recommendation on Quality Apprenticeships, 2023 (No. 208). This international labor standard was adopted in June 2023 by the ILO’s constituents (Member States and workers’ and employers’ organizations) as the primary reference for regulating and promoting quality apprenticeships.
The objective of this training is to improve the competencies of in-company trainers in supervising and training apprentices on the job.
This training consists of four modules:

- Planning and Preparing the Training
- Implementing and Delivering the Training
- Conclusion and Evaluation of the Training
