Awareness raising brochure
Be cautious of excessive heat!
Heat stress is becoming a significant threat to the safety and health of workers, as they face increasingly high daily temperatures and more frequent, severe heatwaves. It is crucial to raise awareness among both employers and workers about the harmful effects of excessive heat.
Heat stress can cause immediate health issues, such as heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and, in extreme cases, death. Over the long term, it can lead to serious chronic diseases affecting the cardiovascular, respiratory, and kidney systems.
This brochure, developed through a collaboration between the ILO's Japan-funded project Promoting a safe and healthy working environment in Thailand and Cambodiaand Thai authorities, aims to raise awareness and help both workers and employers take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the harmful effects of excessive heat.
