  • established pilot child labour monitoring committees
  • developed a centralised database and a system of child labour referrals
  • trialled a child labour inspection form through the labour inspectorate
  • conducted training on child labour with stakeholders such as the Fiji Police and Department of Immigration and through the inter-agency committees that have been set up by the Fiji government as part of the government legislated National Coordinating Committee on Children
  • coordinated the Child Labour Committee which has been endorsed as part of the government legislated National Coordinating Committee on Children.
The CLU has also worked with child labourers and children at risk by registering children who are over the minimum legal age into the National Employment Centre data-base, and working with stakeholders to put other children back in to school.
