Students with disabilities’ inclusion in career counselling, training and employment opportunities

The University Centers for Career Development (UCCD) project, under ILO’s component and in partnership with the AUC and USAID managed to achieve the following inclusive activities:
1) 18 UCCDs in 11 Egyptian public universities were able to develop inclusive action plans and started to provide emotional and practical support to maximize students with disabilities’ inclusion in career counselling, training and employment opportunities.
2) 64 UCCD staff members were trained on how to deal and communicate with different disabilities (visual, hearing, mental, physical).
3) More than 100 UCCD staff received the disability equality training (DET), 24 out of them were selected to be become DET facilitators, 10 out of them has become certified DET facilitators.
4) More than 800 university staff and students received the disability equality training.
5) 7 manuals were developed as a step-by step guide for the UCCDs and to ensure the sustainability of the inclusive activities.
