Rural Roads for Development steps up empowerment of women and people living with disabilities
Roads for Development Program (R4D) is the Government of Timor-Leste’s leading rural roads program implemented by the Ministry of Development and Institutional Reform for Public Works, with financial support from the Government of Australia and technical support from the ILO.
After successful 5 years of implementation, R4D Phase 1, came to an end in March 2017 with impressive results and significant impacts for rural communities.
R4D Phase 2 will continue until 2021 with a focus on capacity development of government and private sector stakeholders with the overall goal of providing social and economic benefits from improved road access for women and men in rural Timor-Leste.
