Assessment of Bilateral Labour Migration Agreements (BLMAs) between selected African countries and destination countries.

The assessment reviews Bilateral Labour Migration Agreements between seven African countries of origin and destination countries. It identifies key gaps in worker protection, fair recruitment, social protection, grievance mechanisms, and gender responsiveness, while highlighting the need for stronger implementation, greater involvement of social partners and closer regional coordination to improve the effectiveness of BLMAs and strengthen safe, regular and rights-based labour migration pathways.
