Decision concerning the agenda of future sessions of the Conference

The Governing Body:

(a) approved an item with a view to a general discussion on the agenda of the 115th Session (2027) of the International Labour Conference entitled "Harnessing the fullest potential of technology to foster structural transformation of the economy, higher levels of productivity and decent work for all as a pathway towards social justice" and requested the Office to take into account the guidance provided in preparing the relevant report to be considered by the Conference at its 115th Session (2027);

(b) deferred to its 356th Session (March 2026) the decision to place on the agenda of the 117th Session (2029) and 118th Session (2030) of the Conference an item on ergonomics and manual handling for standard-setting on the basis of a double discussion and requested the Office to present to its 355th Session (November 2025) proposals for a tripartite meeting of experts prior to standard-setting;

(c) decided to place on the agenda of the 113th Session (2025) of the Conference the approval of proposed amendments to the Code of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, as amended, subject to the adoption of any amendments by the Special Tripartite Committee established under Article XIII of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, as amended, at its fifth meeting to be held in April 2025;

(d) decided to place an item concerning the abrogation of the Minimum Age (Fishermen) Convention, 1959 (No. 112), on the agenda of the 118th Session (2030) of the Conference and invited the four Member States in which Convention No. 112 is still in force to effectively implement the Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No. 138), and the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182), with the technical assistance of the Office;

(e) requested the Office to take into account the guidance provided in preparing the document concerning the agenda of future sessions of the Conference for its 355th Session (November 2025).
