Decision concerning the outcome of the Tripartite Meeting on the Review of the Functioning of the Governing Body (Geneva, 5–8 May 2025)

The Governing Body:

(a) endorsed the recommendations of the Tripartite Meeting on the Review of the Functioning of the Governing Body that was held from 5 to 8 May 2025 and requested the Office to undertake the actions outlined in paragraph 25 of document GB.355/INS/6 to implement the recommended changes, taking into account the guidance provided during the discussion;

(b) adopted the amendment to paragraph 4.3.1 of the Standing Orders of the Governing Body presented in paragraph 18 of document GB.355/INS/6;

(c) requested the Office to prepare a document on the question of the delegation of authority to the Officers of the Governing Body, including proposed amendments to the Standing Orders of the Governing Body and its Introductory note, for consideration at its 356th Session (March 2026);

(d) decided not to hold a second tripartite meeting to review its functioning in 2026 and that any pending matters identified during the discussion would be considered by the Governing Body at future sessions.
