Report on the mini launch of ILO Project on Mobilization and Capacity Building of Teachers’ Union and Wider Trade Unions in Combating Child Labour in Indonesia

With the endorsement of National Steering Committee and an Action Program that has been agreed by PGRI (Teachers’ Association of the Republic of Indonesia) as implementing partner, the ILO-IPEC held a mini launch for the project on March 4, 2009 at Papua Room, UNDP Office. The launch was meant as an awareness raising activities in which stakeholders were invited to the launch to be informed about ILO-IPEC activities with trade unions in Indonesia.

The launch, which also aimed at mobilizing support to the elimination of the worst forms of child labor in Indonesia from various stakeholders, especially trade unions in Indonesia, was attended by around 70 persons representing government institutions, international organizations, trade unions, employers, NGOs, Universities, and Media.
