This factsheet details how the PROSPECTS Partnership is supporting Lebanon as it responds to prolonged displacement alongside economic instability and pressure on services, infrastructure and the labour market. As of August 2026, 878,494 refugees and asylum-seekers had active files with UNHCR, while an estimated 334,353 people remained internally displaced following the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

Supported by the Netherlands and implemented by IFC, ILO, UNHCR, UNICEF and the World Bank, PROSPECTS works across four integrated pillars: Protection and Social Protection, Decent Work and Livelihoods, Education and Training, and Critical Infrastructure. Through a joint humanitarian-development approach, the Partnership strengthens national and local systems while expanding opportunities and services for refugees and vulnerable host communities.

These joint efforts have delivered tangible results, including legal support and case management services for 69,506 individuals, primary and secondary education programmes reaching more than 84,000 children, 13,625 new jobs and/or self-employment opportunities, and access to clean water for 6,945 people. By connecting protection, education, skills, decent work and essential services, PROSPECTS is helping communities build greater resilience, inclusion and more sustainable livelihoods.
