ILO ARISE Project establish new Community Based- Services Outlet Centre

LILONGWE - The ILO ARISE Project has established a new Community Based- Services Outlet Centre (CB-SOC) at Mitundu in Lilongwe District where children who have been withdrawn and prevented from different forms of Child Labour that includes, Tobacco production, Animal heading, vending are provided with rehabilitation services.

The trainees are going through Complementary Basic Education classes which prepare them for mainstreaming into formal education and Vocational Skills Trainings. In Vocational Skills, project beneficiaries are learning skills in Basket weaving, Tailoring, Carpentry, Knitting. The project aims at reducing worst forms of child labour in tobacco-growing communities in Malawi
