Strengthening legal frameworks for Protection of Children in Mombasa, Kenya

The role of the ILO CAPSA (Capacity Strengthening of Governments to Address Child Labour and Forced Labour and Violations of Acceptable Conditions of Work in Sub-Saharan Africa(CAPSA) Project in finalizing and validating the Mombasa County Child Labour Policy, a key legal framework aimed at addressing child labour in the region. The policy provides a structured, coordinated approach to child protection and reinforces the county’s commitment to eradicating child labour through strengthened legal mechanisms. With this policy in place, Mombasa is taking a significant step toward ensuring long-term solutions and comprehensive protection for vulnerable children.
