Role play “Advocating social protection in a Lao village”

A group of young people perform a role-play to highlight the importance of social security during the National Symposium on Social Protection in Vientiane on 31 July 2024. The story centers around a farmer named Sak, who gets injured while harvesting coffee in rural Laos. With his pregnant wife and a school-aged son, the family struggles to secure their income during Sak’s injury. That is, until a neighboring couple stops by and suggests registering for social security, sharing their own experiences and explaining its benefits.
