Informing the revision of international statistical standards for discussion by the 22nd ICLS
National practices in occupational safety and health statistics
This review provides a comprehensive overview of current national practices in the production of occupational safety and health (OSH) statistics, based on the Questionnaire on National Practices in OSH Statistics sent to nominated national OSH statistics focal points by the ILO Department of Statistics between March and September 2025. It forms part of the multi-year, consultative process to revise the 1998 Resolution Concerning Statistics of Occupational Injuries (Resulting from Occupational Accidents), adopted by the 16th International Conference of Labour Statisticians (ICLS). This revision process, led by the ILO Department of Statistics in preparation for the 22nd ICLS (2028), aims to modernize the global statistical framework for OSH, its first comprehensive update in 30 years.
