From Local Farms to Global Markets, ILO BOUZOUR’s Initiative is boosting Lebanese Cherry Exports

ILO’s BOUZOUR project initiated in Lebanon has partnered with Nasr Rahme, a family agriculture company, with the aim to help Lebanese farmers unlock new export markets for cherries through FAV - the brand representing a cluster of agricultural cooperatives.

In this video, we delve into how the ILO BOUZOUR project provided technical guidance and support to Nasr Rahme through FAV, enabling them to act as an intermediary buyer. Nasr Rahme company played a crucial role by offering the cooperatives and farmers with training, advice, and pre-financed inputs, while also serving as the guaranteed purchaser and exporter of the cherries.

This pilot initiative is the first step in testing strategies to enhance cherry exports, with the potential to improve the entire value chain. As the project grows, it aims to create more job opportunities for Syrian workers and Lebanese communities, improve working conditions, and drive sustainable growth in the sector.
