Indonesia: Pekerja Anak Jermal di Medan

The short film captured the dangerous lives of children working on jermal platforms, engaged in hazardous works and exposed to unsafe working conditions, risk of drowning, long working hours (between 12-20 hours per day), and three months of isolation from their families. They were also vulnerable of physical and sexual abuses from adult coworkers or employers. The film also showed efforts taken by the ILO through its International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) to eliminate jermal children. The film was already broadcasted by a national TV station (only available in Bahasa Indonesia).
