Important changes to the Rules of the Tribunal

4 June 2026

At its plenary session held on 13 May 2026, the Tribunal adopted several amendments to its Rules. The main changes are the following:

- Amendment to Article 4.2 of the Rules to include the President’s May 2022 Order allowing the filing of complaints by email;

- Amendment to Article 7 to introduce additional conditions to summarily dismiss a complaint, or an application for review, interpretation or execution;

- New Article 16A to give authority to the President to dismiss a complaint for Want of Prosecution, particularly for failure to correct a complaint pursuant to Article 6.2; and

- Inclusion of all filing requirements in Annex 1 to the Rules (for example, one electronic version, one paper original and four paper copies of a complaint and its annexes). This resulted in the deletion of Articles 6.1(d) and 8.3(c), and the redrafting of Article 9.7.

A new version of the Rules incorporating the recent amendments is available on the Tribunal’s website, and the changes introduced are effective as of the date of publication of this new version.
