VICTORIA FALLS/ADDIS ABABA (ILO News) – The Annual Meeting of field office Directors in the African region will take place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, from 18 to 21 January 2016.
This meeting, which is convened immediately after the 13th African Regional Meeting and the adoption of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will also be attended by Senior Executives from HQ (Deputy Director-Generals, PROGRAMM, PARDEV, ACTRAV and ACTEMP) with the aim of better implementing ILO’s regional priorities in Africa in the context of the localization of SDGs and Agenda 2063 of the African Union.
Participants will discuss the status of ILO Development Cooperation and how to better manage it on the ground, together with the tripartite constituents, and the need for more and better strategic partnerships for resource mobilization.
This calls for evidence-based research and strengthened knowledge sharing for ILO to engage, deliver and impact on the lives of communities the organization intends to better serve.
