Zambia International Property Expo 2015 officially launched
As the Official Partner, the Zambia Green Jobs Programme joined SmartHomes Zambia, First National Bank Zambia (FNB), Stanbic, ZAPOA and Knight Frank in introducing the first Zambia International Property Expo to the media at a press launch held at Protea Hotel Towers, in Lusaka. The ZIP Expo which will take place from April 22 to 23, in Lusaka, will function as a platform for the Zambia Green Jobs Programme and its partners to demonstrate the business case for green building and construction.

The Expo, which will take place from April 22 to 23 at the New Government Complex in Lusaka, will showcase the Zambian property market by providing a stage for developers, suppliers, banks, financiers, government agencies, real estate agents as well as builders to demonstrate their services and expertise, unveil new products and allow consumers to explore the industry’s offerings under one roof. The conference portion of the event is designed to provide informational and educational material to the public on the latest developments of the property market in Zambia and how to participate as investors and owners.
The media breakfast served as the official launch of the Zip Expo and enjoyed the presence of the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply, and Communication Hon. Yamfwa Mukanga, and Deputy Governor Dr Bwalya K.E. Ng’andu of the Bank of Zambia.
The event, with media in full attendance, was opened by Zip Expo Chair Mr Christopher Jannou who declared that the Zambian property market causes a lot of excitement at the moment and it is a great time to get on the property ladder.
As the representative of the Zambia Green Jobs Programme (ZGJP), Chief Technical Advisor, Mr. Tapera Muzira, called for responsible investments in the property sector, highlighting the importance of the government and the private sector in shaping the future of the property market.
Finally, as the Guest of Honour, Minister Mukanga highlighted the need to think in terms of job creation in anything that is happening in Zambia, especially in the building construction sector.
The ZIP EXPO provides an excellent private sector platform for the Zambia Green Jobs Programme and its partners and stakeholders to showcase the business case for green building and construction, and further explore opportunities for collaboration and partnerships on issues ranging from access to green finance, business linkages as well as a sector approach to the greening of the building construction industry.
