Youth Employment Project in Egypt Receives Teamwork Award

6 May, GENEVA – The Youth Employment Project “Decent jobs for Egypt’s Young people – Tackling the Challenge Together” has won the “Teamwork” award in this year’s ILO recognition award competition. The project was among six winners in different categories chosen from among 700 nominees, and is funded by the Government of Canada.

The award recognizes the successful effort by the project team in Egypt to achieve outstanding results through effective teamwork and collaboration in a key area of the ILO’s work.

“This team in Egypt focuses on a question that is essential for the ILO’s work around the world: How to enable more and better-quality jobs for young people,” said Moussa Oumarou, Deputy Director-General for Field Operations who introduced the nomination. “In collaboration with many departments, the Turin Centre, ministries, international organizations, as well as civil society and private-sector organizations, our colleagues have demonstrated clearly a strong motivation to develop capacities and better policies for youth employment.”

The Employment Policy Department congratulates the team, thanks all members for their efforts and wishes them good luck – this project will continue to influence many of our efforts!
