Workshop on occupational safety and health held in Tbilisi
Reform of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations which is currently underway in Georgia poses new challenges of compliance for the small and medium sized businesses.

Acting proactively, Georgian Employers’ Association (GEA) has developed a set of OSH training services for companies, aimed to help them adjust their operations to the new requirements in order not only to increase compliance but also to raise the awareness of importance of OSH as well as to increase the level of safety at the workplace.
In this effort GEA is strongly supported by the ILO.
Following the Training-of-trainers course organized for GEA representatives at the ILO International Training Center in Turin (August 2015) and the OSH training in October 2015, on 16-20 May 2016 the ILO has organized in Tbilisi a set of trainings covering the most relevant OSH issues as identified by the Georgian businesses.
These issues include: occupational safety and health for the construction sector; fire safety in tourism; economic aspects of OSH.
The Tbilisi training was aimed at increasing the capacity of GEA to provide training to its members, raise their awareness on the importance of investment in OSH and promote OSH activities at enterprises.
