The webinar discussed the role and challenges for business environment reform and the informal economy created by COVID-19. Recognising the impact COVID-19 has had on the informal economy in developing economies, the speakers, including ILO Enterprise Formalization Specialist Judith van Doorn and ILO Programme Officer Simbarashe Sibanda, explored various responses as a solution to these challenges. Examples highlighted promising efforts to increase resilience in the informal economy and enhance the formalisation of informal firms.
