Tripartite Conference on the Future of Work
On 19th October, a tripartite Conference on the Future of Work was organised in Lisbon (Trindade Theater) by the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security of Portugal under the framework of the Ministry’s centenary and in collaboration with ILO-Lisbon.

The Director-General of the ILO took part in this event as well as Heinz Koller, Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia. Representatives of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) were also present.
The day after, the Director-General took part in the first sittings of a simulation of the International Labour Conference that is being held in the Coimbra University until the 29-30 November with the participation of some 300 students.
The Director-General also held several bilateral meetings, in particular with Mr António Costa, Prime Minister, Mr Vieira da Silva, Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, and Mr Cabrita, Employment State Secretary.
Finally, the Director-General took the opportunity of his presence in Portugal to inaugurate the new premises of the Lisbon ILO-Office kindly provided by the Portuguese Government.
