Training Seminar on International Labour Standards Held in Tbilisi

On 28 to 30 September 2016, Tbilisi, Georgia, hosted a training seminar on international labour standards and national implementation mechanisms. The event was organized by ITC-ILO in Turin and the ILO.

Irakli Petriashvili, President of the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation and the Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC PERC) opened the event. Sergeyus Glovackas, ILO’s Moscow Senior Specialist in Workers’ Activities , Víctor Hugo Ricco, Senior Specialist in Worker's Activities, ACTRAV ILO HQ participated in the seminar. Evelin Toth, Senior Programme Officer, Desk for Europe Programme for Workers’ Activities, ITC-ILO and Maura Miraglio, Programme Officer, International Labour Standards, Rights at Work and Gender Equality Programme, ITC-ILO conducted the event.

The audience, which included heads of legal departments from trade union organizations of 12 countries, discussed issues such as labour standards and their enforcement, current legal disputes and international practices.
