Trade unions’ activity discussed in Baku
On November 10, Baku hosted a seminar focusing on the role of trade unions in building tripartite social dialogue and creating the Tripartite Commission.

In his opening remarks the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Sattar Mehbolliyev, spoke of the history of building Azerbaijan’s social relations system, emphasizing that his Confederation had established dialogue with the government and employers and normalized social and labour relations in the country.
Among speakers at the seminar were also ILO Moscow Senior Specialist in Workers’ Activity Sergeyus Glovackas head of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation’s unit on protection of labour and socio-economic interests of workers Chingiz Tagiev and chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Lithuania Arturas Cerniauskas. They stressed importance of creating the Tripartite Commission and focused on prospects of its activity.
The seminar was concluded with a roundtable meeting to sum up the results of the event.
