Technical session on violence and harassment at work from the point of view of professional bodies

It was inaugurated by the Regional Advisor for the Promotion of Work and Equality, María Jesús Lorenzana, and endorsed the Xunta's commitment to comply with the framework set by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in its Convention 190.

On 25 October, pending the adaptation of ILO Convention 190 on violence and harassment in the world of work to Spanish domestic law, the Technical Conference for professional associations on Convention 190 was held in A Coruña, organised by the Xunta de Galicia at the headquarters of the Official Technical Architecture Association of A Coruña, with the participation of the Advisor of the ILO office for Spain, Sara López, to talk about the importance of the aforementioned convention and the new developments it entails.

It also counted with the participation of the Labour and Social Security Inspector, Sandra García Lombardia, who highlighted the preventive approach of the aforementioned convention and the measures that will be necessary for its compliance along with the possible sanctions of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate for non-compliance that can be imposed when classifying violence and harassment at work as occupational hazards; it also counted with the Magistrate of the High Court of Justice of Galicia, José Fernando Lousada Arochena, who highlighted the treatment of violence at work from the perspective of the social jurisdiction. The round table was moderated by Maria Ángeles Garcia, social graduate and equality advisor to the Spanish Council of Social Graduates.
