Tanzania marks the 10th year of promoting the Month of Women Entrepreneurs
In line with ILO’s Decent Work agenda Tanzania promotes entrepreneurship during the month of women entrepreneurs.

Dar es Salaam (ILO News): The Women Entrepreneurship Association (WEA) Tanzania, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, and the ILO is organizing the Month of Women Entrepreneurs (MOWE) 2016 from 31 October to 5 November 2016 in Dar es Salaam.
This year’s event marks 10 years of promoting women entrepreneurs in Tanzania carrying the theme, ”Ten years of MOWE, buy products from women entrepreneurs and contribute to the national income”.
According to Ms. Elihaika Mrema, Chairperson of MOWE, "The 2016 MOWE events have been organized to contribute to the ongoing initiatives by the government, private sector, the UN and the public to promote entrepreneurship among women in the country...”
An exhibition which will be launched by Hon. Mr. Charles J. Mwijage, Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment on 01 November 2016, is set to bring together about 150 women entrepreneurs from Tanzania Mainland, Zanzibar as well as from neighboring countries. In addition to the exhibitions, other activities will include symposia, sale of various products and financial fair.
MOWE Exhibitions provide a great opportunity to showcase what thousands of women membership organizations and individual women entrepreneurs are already doing to help foster a culture that embraces innovation, imagination and creativity. It is also a platform for women entrepreneurs to exchange experiences, network and establish partnerships.
This annual event brings together every year, women entrepreneurs from all over Tanzania as well as other neighboring East African countries to promote the different roles played by women entrepreneurs in the different sectors. They use different media to to bring issues of concern in women entrepreneurship development to policy makers and other stakeholders.
