Tajik leader orders increase in monthly wages, pensions, scholarships
On 6 September Tajik president's website published a decree by the president of Tajikistan on measures aimed at strengthening the level of population's social security and increasing current allowances of public servants, workers of budgetary establishments, organizations as well as pensions and scholarships. The decree reads:

With the aim of improving the people's living standards, raising the level of social security of the population, and in line with Article 103 of the Labour Code of Tajikistan and Article 16 of the Tajik law "On pensions provision of citizens of Tajikistan", I decree:
As of 1 October 2010, allowances should be increased by 10 per cent of the staff of institutions and organizations in such fields as science, education, social security, culture as well as the staff of other institutions and organizations which are funded from the state budget;
current allowances (tariff rates) should be increased of public servants of state bodies (except for public servants of state bodies for whom a single tar! iff scale is being introduced for the first time) and local administrations, servicemen, junior and senior officials of interior bodies as well as of the staff of other law-enforcement bodies, courts, prosecutor's offices, penitentiaries, and state notary's offices, as well as allowances should be increased of servicemen in accordance with their various (special) military ranks;
wages should be increased of the staff of institutions of the healthcare sector taking into account set minimum wage rate in line with the instruction of paying wages of healthcare sector's workers of Tajikistan;
pensions should be increased by 15 per cent from set out minimum pension rate;
maximum pension rate should be set at 400 somoni per month;
The decree also provides to increase scholarships for students and postgraduates by 10 per cent and to introduce a single tariff scale for public servants, the staff of ministries and other state bodies
