Tackling inequality in Africa is a top priority, says ILO
At the 2016 World Economic Forum in Kigali, ILO's Deputy Director-General for Field Operations and Partnerships, Gilbert Houngbo, addressed key topics of inequality, employment skills and human capital.

ABIDJAN (ILO News) – The ILO Deputy Director General for Field Operations and Partnerships, Gilbert Houngbo, participates in Kigali (Rwanda) to the World Economic Forum.
Gilbert Houngbo, together with Winnie Byanyima (OXFAM), Jennifer Blanke (WEF), and Oliver Cann discussed the latest thinking on how to address and overcome income inequality in Africa as the levels of inequality in the continent are among the highest in the world.
They also discuss employment skills and human capital to ensure the development of African economies and reduce the gap not only around income inequality but also towards access to health care, energy and infrastructure.
The ILO Deputy Director General took part on Thursday in another round table on the strength of financial markets in a context where African oil producing countries are facing deteriorating commodity prices.
