Türkiye moves forward in responsible business
A Tripartite Workshop brought together social partners and government representatives to enhance responsible business conduct.

ANKARA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for Türkiye organized a tripartite workshop in Ankara to discuss the establishment of a national focal point under the Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (ILO MNE Declaration).
The event convened key stakeholders, including government representatives, worker and employer organizations, and international partners, to explore mechanisms for coordinating responsible business practices and strengthening policy alignment with international labour standards.
Workshop discussions focused on the practical steps needed to set up a national focal point, leveraging existing tripartite structures to enhance policy coherence, and fostering stronger collaboration between public institutions, social partners, and businesses.
Participants underscored the importance of sector-specific approaches, capacity building, and continuous technical support to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes. The workshop also highlighted Türkiye’s proactive role as a pathfinder country within the Alliance 8.7 initiative, emphasizing the country's dedication to eradicating child labour and promoting fair and decent working conditions.
The insights gathered during the workshop will inform the roadmap for establishing the focal point, contributing to Türkiye's ongoing efforts to advance responsible business conduct and further align with global labour standards.
