SCORE Training in Bolivia increases outreach to companies in the agro-export sector to promote increased productivity, improved working conditions and access to international markets
Continuing with the objective of contributing to socioeconomic recovery and responding to the needs of Bolivian companies, the Confederation of Private Entrepreneurs of Bolivia (CEPB) together with the International Labour Organization (ILO) identified the agro-industrial sector as the main sector for the implementation of a new SCORE modality linked to better access to international markets.

La Paz - CEPB with the support of the ILO started in September 2021 the implementation of a new modality of SCORE training aimed at supporting agro-industrial enterprises in strengthening their export skills and opportunities through increased productivity, improved quality, compliance with international standards and improved working conditions.
The new virtual training offer combines the cooperation in the workplace module and the quality improvement module, including training aimed at providing key elements to initiate or enhance export processes and access international markets. The promotion of this new modality was supported by the Bolivian Chamber of Quinoa and Organic Products Exporters (CABOLQUI) and CAPITAL SAFI, as partners in the dissemination and registration of companies.
The process began on 20 September 2021, with the participation of 6 small and medium-sized exporting enterprises or enterprises with export potential in the areas of coffee, Andean grains, chestnuts and citrus fruits. The process will last approximately 4 months, starting with an initial diagnosis of the companies, which will be followed by 12 virtual training sessions and the subsequent implementation of business improvement plans, with follow-up and technical assistance from the SCORE Programme in Bolivia.
SCORE Training has been promoted since 2017 by CEPB in Bolivia, with the support of the ILO, with the aim of supporting enterprises to incorporate modern management practices based on cooperation in the workplace to promote more competitive, responsible and sustainable enterprises. In the framework of the Bolivia Digna y Productiva Project, thanks to the new virtual training modality, companies from all over the country were able to apply to take part in the training, allowing SCORE to increase its outreach in Bolivia.
Furthermore, in order to promote greater awareness of national production in the agro-industrial sector, the appreciation of the country's gastronomic and food heritage and the importance of decent work, SCORE is being implemented as part of a communication campaign entitled "Rethinking food heritage with decent work". This campaign is carried out by the ILO in collaboration with the NGO Bolivian Food and Gastronomic Integration Movement (MIGA in Spanish).
