Sakhalin Launches Discussion on Labour in 21st Century

“This is a historic event, as it is from Sakhalin that we start presenting ILO’s vison of the future of the world of work. We will discuss the administration of labour, decent jobs, and much more,” said Sergeyus Glovackas, Senior Specialist in Workers’ Activities at ILO Moscow Office.

The presentation took place as part of the programme of the conference – workshop on human rights work, organized by Sakhalin trade unions – the first ever such conference to be held in the island. The main aim of this important event is to educate the working people in the region about the ways and means of protection their labour rights.

At the workshop Sergeyus Glovackas was joined by Alexander Suvorov, chairman of the Association of territorial trade union organizations of the Far Eastern Federal District, member of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of Russian Federation; Sergey Nekrasov, first deputy chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia; Nikolai Gladkov, head of the Chair of Labour Law at the Academy of Labour and Social Affairs of the Russian Federation and other prominent experts in the field of labour law.
