Russian Labour Law Reform Discussed.

A tripartite seminar “Labour Law Reform in the Russian Federation” opened today at the Hotel National in Moscow. For two days representatives of the Government, trade unions, employers associations, legislative and judicial bodies will discuss recommendations on how to improve the Russian labour legislation and make it more comprehensible and applicable for all workers and employers.
The opening statement was made by Ms. Pauline Barrett-Reid, Director of the ILO Subregional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Several presentations were made, including by Andrei Selivanov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labour and Social Issues; Vladimir Varov, First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Development of the RF; Arturo Bronstein, Senior Labour Law Policy Adviser, ILO Geneva.
