Russia set to ratify ILO Paid Education Leave Convention
On February 5, the Russian government considered the issue of ratifying the ILO Paid Educational Leave Convention, 1974 (No. 140). The ILO convention fully meets norms of the Russian Labour Code.

n compliance with the convention that is legally binding for all member-states of the ILO paid leave should be granted to a worker for educational purposes. This provision conforms with norms of the Russian Labour Code, which envisages financial entitlements to workers, who combine work and education.
“Ratification of the convention will provide additional legal guarantees of observing workers’ rights to paid education leave,” according to a statement of the government’s press service.
