Russia and Kyrgyzstan agree to transfer pensions of migrant workers according to principle of proportionality

This was announced today at the roundtable "Pension reform: key conclusions and recommendations", the representatives of the Social Fund informed.

According to its chairman Mukhammetkalyi Abulgaziev, Kyrgyzstanis working in Russia may be left without pensions after the age. Therefore the Social Fund considers the ways to solve this problem.

At present, Kyrgyzstan and Russia jointly develop a draft treaty on cooperation in the field of social security, according to which transfer of pensions to citizens of both countries is made at the place of permanent residence on the principle of proportionality.

In addition, the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic provides for restoration of pensionable service for calculation of pension from January 1, 1996 and the possibility of voluntary pension insurance for our migrant workers not less than 8 percent of the average monthly wage per month to the Pension Fund.
