Rosstat: national unemployment averages 5.5% in 2013
The average unemployment rate in the Russian Federation equaled 5.5% in 2013, data released by the Federal Statistics Service on Friday showed.

As reported by the statistical authority, the number of economically active population, on average, equaled 75.5 mln people during the year.
Under the methodology of the International Labor Organization (ILO) (had no jobs, but were active in job search) 4.1 mln people of this number were jobless.
In addition, last December economically active Russians totaled 75.1 mln people, with the jobless under the ILO methodology amounting to 4.2 mln people (5.6%).
