Report II “Household Income and Expenditure Statistics” was presented at the Seventeenth International Conference of Labour Statisticians (24 November – 3 December 2003).

The report was selected for translation considering the substantial lack of Russian materials dealing with international methodologies on household income in spite of high need in the whole CIS region.
Household income and expenditure statistics serve a variety of purposes with respect to economic, social and other forms of description and analysis: compilation of consumer price index and national accounts, welfare analysis, monitoring and assessment of policies in the economic and social protection sphere, etc.
Translation was organized by the ILO Subregional Office in Moscow with the financial support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kazakhstan under joint ILO/UNDP project “Decent Work: Integrated Approach to Social Sphere in Kazakhstan”. The Russian edition of the Report is now being prepared for printing by ILO-Geneva.
