GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) will host the annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Roundtable on 14 November at ILO headquarters in Geneva.

This year, the Roundtable will focus on how international organizations work with capital markets and policy makers to promote responsible investment. It will also discuss efforts to encourage governments to promote good CSR practices.

“For more than two decades, portfolio investors have been increasingly engaged in ‘responsible investment’ activities, using their position as shareholders to encourage companies to adopt CSR policies. Governments also show growing interest in this topic to attract responsible investment to their countries and promote such investment abroad”, explains Emily Sims, Senior Specialist in the Multinational Enterprises and Enterprise Engagement Unit.

Organized by ILO, UNCTAD and OECD, the meeting brings together CSR experts from international organizations, governments and development partners to promote common approaches to CSR.

The event provides an opportunity for international organizations to share experiences and identify areas for closer cooperation, while government agencies find a ‘one-stop-shop’ to discuss CSR issues with experts from international agencies.
