ILO Office in Turkey conducted a needs analysis study on capacity building for worker and employer organisations called “Promoting decent work for Syrians under temporary protection in Turkey: What should worker and employer organisations do?” in order to support the access of Syrians in Turkey to decent work under the project “Promoting Decent Work Opportunities for Syrian and Host Communities.”

In the context of the analysis conducted by Prof. Dr. Seyhan Erdoğdu, interviews were held in Ankara, Gaziantep, Urfa, Adana, Mersin and Hatay. Interviewee organisations included Turkey’s three largest labour confederations namely TÜRK-İŞ, HAK-İŞ, DİSK and their affiliated unions, TİSK and affiliated employer organisations, TESK and affiliated tradesmen and craftsmen chambers and federations. Through the one-on-one interviews and surveys administered, the views were elicited from worker and employer organisations.
