Over two per cent unemployment rate logged in Tajikistan
Over 73,800 unemployed citizens were on Tajikistan's employment offices' watch lists in early January, 2012, which was more by 12.3 per cent compared to the same period in 2011.

According to the Tajik Statistics Agency, in December 2011, a total of 3,700 people (29.2 per cent less compared to the figures of the same period in 2010) sought help of employment offices in finding them jobs, whereas the employment rate of [previously] unoccupied population amounted to 2,000 people, which was less by 34 per cent compared to the same period in 2011.
In early January, the official rate of unemployed people logged by the Tajik Labour and Social Security Ministry's employment offices amounted to 54.5 per cent.
Women comprised 51.7 per cent (32,000 people) of all the logged unemployed population. The level of the officially logged unemployment amounted to 2.5 per cent of economically active population.
