Over 3,600 people died of AIDS in Kazakhstan so far

Over 3,600 HIV infected people have died in Kazakhstan since the moment when the registration of this disease started, has said the press service of the national centre for fighting and preventing AIDS.

"As of 1 May, there are 18,459 HIV positive people registered in Kazakhstan. In all, 3,653 people have died since the moment when registration of the disease started," the press service said in a statement issued today.

A campaign to commemorate those who died of AIDS will be held in Almaty on 26 May.

Show business stars and sportsmen were invited to the campaign.
