OSH Information Centre Opened In Tbilisi.

Tbilisi, 3 April - Deputy Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia Ms Manoni Khachidze welcomed the opening of the new Occupational safety and health centre as an essential step to improve working conditions in Georgia. In her speech the Minister pointed out that the Ministry of Labour is willing to closely cooperate with the centre, in the translation of ILO OSH publications into Georgian and, especially in the preparation of the national OSH profile, aiming at a national OSH programme.
The official opening of the OSH centre on April 3 was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Economics and Deputy Minister of Environment of the Republic of Georgia, representatives of the Parliament of Georgia and the government administration, delegates from the trade unions, employers’ organizations and major enterprises, representatives of the technical university, academy of science, labour and technical inspection, around forty people approximately.
