A new step towards trade union unity in Mauritius
With the support of the ILO’s Bureau for Workers ‘Activities (ACTRAV), 7 confederations will implement the trade union council platform in order to enhance trade union unity in Mauritius.

PORT-LOUIS (ACTRAV INFO)-7 Confederations in Mauritius will implement the Trade Unions Council (TUC) platform as unique body to enhance trade union unity in Mauritius. The decision was made at a conference held in Port-Louis (Mauritius) from 17 to 19 October 2016.
The TUC will work to bring changes to the national law (see para. 18, 18.1, 18.2 &18.3) in order to be recognised as a workers’ organization and not just as an association.
The Trade Union Council has been launched in April 2016 with the support of the ILO’s Bureau for Workers ‘Activities (ACTRAV)
